We are a family
At Ency Care we care about all of our people, and believe passionately that by treating our carers as a trusted family we can empower them to treat our clients with the same warmth and respect.
A change of routine and environment can be very daunting for someone who’s living with dementia. That’s why more families than ever are turning to home care rather than residential care, so their loved one can stay in the place they know and love instead of nursing homes.
In this type of specialised home care, a trained professional will support your loved one to continue living as independently as possible in their own home. They will move into your loved one’s property, and help in any way that is needed. In addition to assisting with the usual aspects of elderly care, such as personal hygiene, bathing or mobilising, they will also perform household duties such as cooking, cleaning and domestic work.
This type of 24/7 care is more like having a skilled family member living with your loved one, and a real friendship can develop between carer and care recipient. The carer will often work on a rotational basis such as two weeks on and two weeks off. When they are away another carefully selected carer will take over. Ency Care will ensure that the carer chosen for your loved one has the specialist dementia care training and experience they will need to meet your relative’s specific needs.
Alzheimer’s care
There are many different types of dementia, however Alzheimer’s is the most common form and the one that we asked to support with the most. It affects more than half a million people in the UK alone. Alzheimer’s is a progressive condition, with time leaving the people and families affected needing extra help and care. At Ency Care, we believe in and see the benefits of allowing someone with Alzheimer’s to remain in their own home. The continuity of routine, familiarity of environment and one to one attention from a specialist dementia carer can make a huge difference to quality of life.
Our professional carers either visit at agreed times or move into the homes of their customers to provide personal care, housekeeping, companionship and support that’s specially tailored to the needs of the individual.
The private care provided will be tailored to your loved one’s current abilities and symptoms, and adapted as the disease progresses and skills change. Arranging care at home will also enable your loved one to stay in familiar surroundings, helping them to feel safe and loved, even when faced with memory loss and diminished capacity.
